Latest Updates from Our Project:

Final day! Back now, check out the poll, and here's to an awesome finale!
9 months ago – Tue, Sep 30, 2025 at 07:11:08 AM

Today is the last day of the StoryGuider campaign!  As of posting, there's about 6 hours left to back, and we're less than $250 from our stretch goal - check it out now so you don't miss out!  The campaign ends at 4pm ET!

Our poll is also still live until the campaign ends, so get your votes in to help create the Library Hero story!  There's one option taking the lead, but it is also close enough to change by tonight.

Here's to a great finale, and thank you!
Steph, TTRPGkids

Poll results + new poll + final days for StoryGuider campaign!
9 months ago – Sun, Sep 28, 2025 at 06:47:36 AM

The results from the last StoryGuider poll are in, and... it was very close, but DRAGONS won!  The first book that Lucky the Library Cat will explore is going to be about dragons!

There's a new poll out now to help decide what the core goal/problem of the story will be (check it out at the bottom of the message)!

AND...  StoryGuider is in its final days!  If you haven't backed already, now's your chance to make sure you get your copies with the POD keys before the campaign ends.  Check it out here, and happy gaming!

Thank you,
Steph (TTRPGkids)

New poll: Help us choose how the new StoryGuider adventure will go!
9 months ago – Thu, Sep 25, 2025 at 05:14:54 AM

In a crossover between my last campaign, Greeting Games, and this one, StoryGuider, I'm adding a whole new trilogy to the StoryGuider series as part of the 36 adventures!

This new triligoy is about a helpful library cat(aloger) who travels into magical books in order to repair them, help out various characters, and see what they can learn!

Because this is a new adventure, I'm looking for some audience input on where it should lead - check out the poll at the bottom of the message to vote on the theme for the first story that Lucky the Library Cat will dive into!

STORYGUIDER IS FUNDED!

As of posting this, StoryGuider hit 100% funded!  It's been a journey to get here, and thank you everyone for being excited about the project and your support!!  It's happening because of you all!

Featured on Shadomain

StoryGuider was featured on Shadomain this week!  Check out the article here for a Q&A about the work that went into StoryGuider, from reading up on kid lit to figuring out how to combine that with core TTRPG concepts, and about how TTRPGkids got it's start.  Many thanks to Jason from Shadomain for reaching out and highlighting the project!

Designing for Accessibility - webinar today hosted by ALA's Games & Gaming Roundtable

This morning, I'll be part of a panel hosted by The American Library association's Games & Gaming Roundtable about designing games for accessibilty!  This is an important topic for designers and also for those using TTRPGs so everyone can know what's available.  I'll be talking about some of the features I include in my games, including StoryGuider.  Join here through the ALA Games & Gaming Roundtable event page!

If you can't make it to the presentation (it is short notice), I'll be posting about the recording on the TTRPGkids site when it's available.

STRETCH GOALS!

Now that we're funded, we can start working toward stretch goal!

The first is an upgrade to the art for the Sandy the Dragon series with the goal being to hire artist, Soren Leigh, to add their flair to the project.

Thank you for checking out this update, and I'm going to keep working on this for everyone to see how much more we can add to the project through the stretch goals in the next week.  I'll have a new poll out for your all soon to help choose where some of our new stories go, and here's to an awesome final campaign week for StoryGuider!

Thank you,
Steph

Less than $150 to go, shoutout to Glatisant, and flexible play styles
9 months ago – Mon, Sep 22, 2025 at 04:00:33 AM

Goal in sight!

At the time of writing this, StoryGuider is less than $150 away from it's goal with just over a week to go!  I'm excited to see it closing in, and I'm hoping it hits the mark in the next couple days so we can look at maybe unlocking that first stretch goal still!

Shoutout to Glatisant

I'm teaming up with the folks from Grafbound Press to shoutout each other's projects!  I've played and reviewed works from Graftbound before, and I'm very excited to check this new one out.  Glatisant is currently funding on Kickstarter, and you should go check it out as well:

Experience a lifelong quest through Arthurian myth as the heroic Knight Errant and the Questing Beast they pursue. The Knight must seek the Beast, and the Beast must make the Knight worthy of their legend.

What is Glatisant?

Glatisant is a GM-less, asymmetrical TTRPG for two players using the Carta system. Discover a world of high adventure as you cross a tableau of playing cards, encountering people and places from Arthurian myth with each card you turn over. The game can be played in 45 minutes or a few hours, depending on the depth of your journaling.

Glatisant Features:
  • Exploration-focused gameplay
  • A full deck of adventure, each card a scene
  • 40 pages with full-color illustrations throughout
  • Crunchy resource management mechanics
  • Simple, easy-to-learn rules
  • Thoughtful conversations on love and heroism
  • Solo mode for one-player adventures

StoryGuider flexible play styles

Jumping back over to StoryGuider, one of the game's core features is how it can be used for many different group sizes, from 1-1 play that may suit use at home to large group play, that would work for school, daycare, or library programs!  And the original release for this series has also been used in both settings/play styles already with success!

There's recommendations for both styles of use in the books' forwards, along with bonus activities that can be used to supplement each (like adding music or crafting) so you can create tales that fit your player or group and extend the play, if you want more.

Check out StoryGuider here, please help share the project so we can both fund and improve the series, and thank you for your support of this work!

Many thanks,
Steph Campbell
